Sharing and Exporting Analytics
Use the "Embed" feature to share live, dynamic links with clients, or export reports to PDF and Excel.
Summary
Learn how to share your analytics findings with clients or colleagues using live "Embed" links, PDF exports, or Excel data dumps.
Why This is Important
Data is only useful if you can communicate it. Whether you need to send a PDF report to a partner for a meeting or provide a client with a live dashboard showing their litigation portfolio, Docket Alarm offers flexible sharing options that do not require the recipient to have a login.
Method 1: The "Embed" Feature (Live Links)
This is the most powerful way to share data. It creates a dynamic link that updates automatically.
Generate any analytics report (Federal, Easy, or Workbench).
Look for the Embed Icon (represented by
</>symbol) in the upper-right corner of the report.Click Copy just this link.
Send the link via email or chat.
Recipient Experience:
The recipient does not need a Docket Alarm account.
When they open the link, the report re-generates with the latest data. This means if a new case is filed tomorrow, the link you sent today will reflect that update automatically.

Method 2: Export to PDF (Static Report)
Best for printing or attaching to formal memos.
On the analytics report page, look for the PDF Icon in the upper-right corner.
Click it to download a high-resolution PDF version of the current dashboard.
This captures a snapshot of the data at that exact moment.
Method 3: Export to Excel (Raw Data)
Best if you want to manipulate the data yourself.
Scroll to the specific table or list you want to export (e.g., the list of "Top Firms").
Click the Export button (usually located near the section header).
This will download an Excel file containing the raw numbers and case lists.
