# Setting Up

When you sign in for the first time, vLex gives you the ability to personalise your notifications.

You can personalise your notification settings and create alerts to stay on top of your research.

On your homepage above the Newsfeed, you also have the opportunity to check which documents you are following and update your SmartTopic settings.
