# Consolidate Rows in Tabular Review

Learn how to consolidate several documents into a single row in Tabular Review, so an agreement and its amendments are reviewed as one unit.

#### Summary

Learn how to consolidate several documents into a single row in a table in Tabular Review, so related documents are reviewed as one unit rather than repeated down the grid.

### Why This is Important

A table puts one document on each row, which is the right default until the document set contains several documents covering the same thing: an agreement and its amendments, duplicates under different file names, a contract and its schedules. Reviewing them as separate rows means reading the same answer several times and reconciling it by hand.

### How to Consolidate Rows

1. Select the rows holding the documents you want to treat as one.
2. Choose **\[VERIFY — Consolidate]**.
3. The documents collapse into a single row, and every column question is re-answered across the group rather than against each document alone.

\[VERIFY — confirm whether consolidation can be undone, and what happens to a manual correction in a cell that is re-answered as part of the group.]

{% hint style="success" %} Current as of \[DATE — set at publication] {% endhint %}

### Best Practices & Pro Tips

**Consolidate before you correct.** Because consolidation re-answers every column across the group, corrections made beforehand may be recalculated. Get the row structure right, then work the cells.

**Use it for amended agreements.** An agreement and its amendments answered as one row gives you the position as it now stands, which is usually the question the review is asking, rather than three separate answers to reconcile yourself.
