Connecting NetDocuments
Connect NetDocuments to Vincent. Securely import files via ndConnect for analysis without local downloads. Protect your sensitive legal data and workflow.
Summary
Learn how to connect your NetDocuments repository to Vincent. This integration allows you to securely import files directly via the native ndConnect interface for analysis, eliminating the need to download sensitive documents to your local device.
Why This is Important
This integration provides a seamless, secure bridge between your document repository and Vincent. By moving files directly cloud-to-cloud, you maintain a secure chain of custody, ensure strict data governance, and accelerate your workflow by accessing your NetDocuments storage without leaving the Vincent interface.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open the Document Uploader
In any workflow that allows document uploads (such as "Analyze a Contract" or "Collections"), click the 'Add Documents' button.

Step 2: Select NetDocuments
From the dropdown menu, select 'Upload from NetDocuments'.
Step 3: Authenticate via ndConnect
A pop-up window will appear displaying the standard NetDocuments login screen. Enter your credentials to authorize access.
Note: Vincent does not store your password; authentication happens directly with NetDocuments.
Step 4: Select and Import Files
You will see the familiar NetDocuments interface. Browse your Cabinets, Workspaces, or Filters to locate your documents.
Select the specific files you wish to analyze.
Click Import to pull them into Vincent.
Best Practices & Pro Tips
Permission Inheritance: Vincent automatically respects your firm's existing security model. You will only see and be able to select files for which you have explicit access in NetDocuments.
One-Way Import: This is a "read-only" action. Vincent creates a copy for analysis; it does not alter, move, or delete your original source files in NetDocuments.
