# How to Reset or Change Your Password

### Summary

Reset your forgotten vLex Library password from the login page, or change your current password from your account settings. Both methods use a secure email link to protect your account.

Maintaining a secure password protects your account, your confidential research history, and your organization's data. Knowing how to reset it ensures you can quickly regain access if you are ever locked out.

### How to Manage Your Password

#### If You Have Forgotten Your Password

1. Navigate to the [vLex Login Page.](https://app.vlex.com/account/password_reset)
2. Click the [**Forgotten your password?**](https://app.vlex.com/account/password_reset) link.
3. Enter the email address associated with your account and submit.
4. You will receive an email with a [**Reset password** link](https://app.vlex.com/account/password_reset). Click it and follow the prompts to create a new password.

#### If You Want to Change Your Current Password

1. Log in to your account and click the **person icon** in the top-right corner.
2. Select **Manage your account**.
3. In the left-hand column, click **Change your password**.
4. Enter your current password, then enter your new password twice to confirm, and click **Save**.

**Password Reset Links Expire:** For security, the password reset link sent to your email will only be valid for 24 hours. If it expires, you will need to restart the process.
